Anonymous said: Can you possible give the answer to the riddle? It's been bugging me and I can't figure it out!
I’ll link to the relevant posts when I’m not on the mobile website (I’m at Kensington Library for JFSP *vague wave*) but as a-travelling-lemon cleverly discovered, the answer was CAPTAIN :-)

You may have noticed an absence of me i
n a helpful mood of late… or maybe not, I don’t know your life. However, it’s now high time I grovelled through some excuses…
For the next four-or-so weeks I’m doing a preeeetty awesome study course which culminates in a week-long training school, and whereas in the past I had an hour or so free in the evening to dabble with my laptop in the world of Cabin Pressure Countdown, that hour is now dedicated to reading my reference books and underlining bits in red (no, really) and so this pause is going to last…a little while longer.
But I’ll be back before you know it.
In the meantime, if you’re at John Finnemore’s Library Edition on the 4th of July I order you to come and say hi. ;-)

A riddle for you, chaps!
My first is in camel but not in relief,
My second in Shappey is found, but not Crieff,
My third begins one of the Birling Day settings,
My fourth is in strudel, and also in betting,
My fifth is in Douglas, and Carolyn too,
My sixth in Paris but not in Peru.
My seventh’s in lemon but never in lime,
My whole’s in the flight deck, well, most of the time!
What am I?

I’ve accidentally gone on holiday for a few days to what I affectionately term The Land Of No Internets, which will mean a briefish pause of countdown (oh how I flatter myself that anyone cares!)
But because I won’t be able to cope with it being incomplete, I’ll more than likely catch up on the 6 days when I get back. See you on the flip side, guys!
